Greek food is far and away my favorite genre of food. The brightness of the flavors and freshness of the ingredients easily make Greek food my go-to. A few nights ago, we wanted Greek, but we wanted to put a spin on it. So we ended up with Greek-style french fries. I’m a sucker for some fries, so why not add a Greek twist! These were too delicious. Not super healthy, but definitely a treat. Make these fries and I guarantee you will fall in love.
Ingredients:
3 Russett Potatoes
4 tbs Flour
½ Cup Coating Mix
¼ Cup Cornmeal
¼ Cup Club Soda
3 Cups Canola Oil
¼ Cup Parsley
1 Lemon
1 Tbs Cavendars Seasoning
Instructions:
Step 1: Cut potatoes into long slivers to resemble french fries. If you want to do wedges or a different shape, go for it!
Step 2: Soak in cold water for at least 20-30 minutes to pull some of the starch out.
Step 3: Drain the fries and coat with flour.
Step 4: Create a batter by mixing the coating mix, cornmeal, and club soda. Add the flour-coated fries to the dredge and coat.
Step 5: Heat the canola oil to 350°. Once the oil is at the desired temperature, add your coated and batter fries to the oil. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
Step 6: Remove fries from oil and set out on a cooling rack to crisp.
Step 7: Mix together the parmesan, parsley, lemon juice, and Cavender’s seasoning.
Step 8: Toss the fries in the lemon juice mix, serve, and enjoy!
