Blush is debatably the only makeup category that I am the least intrigued with. Don’t get me wrong, i need blush when I do a full face of makeup, but blush launches don’t make me excited to spend my money on makeup. That being said, it’s still a must have in my daily routine. I get in the habit of using one or two blushes over and over again – not changing things up or wanting to experiment with new colors or formulas. But I’m stepping out of my no-new-blush bubble thanks to the new L’Oreal Blush Please range.
L’Oreal has released a whole range of summery makeup products exclusive to Walmart called the Summer Belle collection. With lip glosses, blushes, bronzers, and highlights, this is an exciting new collection to hit the Walmart shelves. And let me tell you, these Summer Belle Blush Please blushes are GORGEOUS. It’s hard not too look at them and not want to immediately grab your blush brush, even for me. They are shimmering blushes that’ll leave you with a healthy, Summer glow. But are they worth a trip to Wally World? I’ll let you decide that one.
First things first, packaging and pricing. Packaging is pretty solid, especially for a drug store product. It feels sturdy in your hand and can hold up to a beating in a makeup bag. Pricing is standard – $9.99 each. And you get a good amount of product, too, so I’m not mad about the price. The most annoying thing is that there are only 2 shades. Two shades will not work for a variety of skin tones. I’d love to see them extend the shade range to fit more skin tones.
As for the actual blushes, the two shades are Blushin’ in Riviera and Blushin’ in Saint-Tropez. Blushin’ in Riviera is a pinky shimmery shade. Much more bright pink than Saint-Tropez. Blushin’ in Saint-Tropez is a peachy, warm shimmering blush. It would work better for medium skin tones, whereas Blushin’ in Riviera would be better for lighter skin tones. The blushes are both beautiful on the skin. The shimmer is golden so it looks great on yellow undertones, but luckily the shimmer isn’t too heavy. It’s not a chunky glitter at all.
My only issue with the Summer Belle blushes is the wear longevity. It looks beautiful on the skin for about 4-5 hours and after that, it starts to fade. By the end of the day, there isn’t much blush left. Although it’s a little annoying, it’s not a deal breaker for me. I haven’t used many drugstore blushes that last for much longer than 5 or so hours.
Overall, I’m happy that I stepped out of my comfort zone to try new blushes. The L’Oreal Summer Belle Blush Please collection is definitely worth a try!
