Foundation is debatably one of my favorite makeup items. It sets the stage for the rest of your makeup look and makes everything else on your face look better. There are a ton of foundations out there that claim to do it all and they range from dirt cheap to whoa that’s my entire paycheck. Although the expensive foundations are great, I personally need something affordable that is going to give me a high end look. Easy enough right? Well after testing a BUNCH of foundations, I’ve found some pretty fantastic foundations for a variety of skin types that just my be the perfect foundation for you. Let me know what your favorite affordable foundation is in the comments below!
For All Skintypes: L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation
I’ve done a full review already for this magic-in-a-bottle foundation, but I couldn’t not include it in this list solely because of how perfect the coverage and finish is for a variety of skin types. I have dry/combo skin and this foundation doesn’t move around at all. I’ve also met plenty of oily gals who love this too, because it gives a soft dewy look, something hard to do for those with oily skin. Even for problematic or acne-prone skin, this foundation offers a beautiful amount of coverage with just a single pump. You really don’t have to use much to get a beautiful complexion with the L’oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation.
For Oily Skin: Covergirl Trublend Matte Made Foundation
This one is a foundation I didn’t use to love. I liked it just fine but it didn’t blow me away. However, the more and more I used it, the more I realized how good it truly was. It’s a beautiful matte foundation that has isn’t too matte, but it will still keep you from getting oily throughout the day. Probably my favorite part about this foundation is how it makes my pores disappear. I find that with other matte foundations, my pores can be accentuated. With the Covergirl Trublend Matte Made Foundation, my pores are a thing of the past.
For Dry Skin: Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation
Say a big hello full coverage with the Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation. Most full-coverage foundations feel heavy and cakey, but this is the only full (FULL) coverage foundation I’ve found that doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a bunch of foundation. It glides on like a dream however you choose to apply, but I’d still recommend using a makeup sponge to apply so it can soak up any extra product. And the lasting power on this foundation? Let’s just say it’s no joke. If you’re dry and looking for a full-coverage glam foundation, you’ve found your answer.
For those looking for a stick foundation: Colourpop No Filter Foundation Stix
As with the L’oreal foundation, I’ve done a full review of this stick foundation and it’s one that I still keep in the top drawer of my makeup vanity. Compared to even some high-end foundation sticks, this one blends like a dream. Others, I find myself fighting to get it to blend. With this, it’s painless and looks flawless. I use a small amount and get a great amount of coverage with little to no fading throughout the day. The finish is a touch on the matte side, so oily ladies might truly love this foundation stick.
For those looking for a powder foundation: Covergirl Trublend Pressed Powder Foundation
I freaking love this powder. I’m not kidding when I say it’s the only powder I use. And I recommend it for those who prefer powder foundations because of the coverage you get. There are days where I’ll just put on a touch of concealer under my eyes and then apply this powder all over. My imperfections are blurred and my skin looks more even instantly. And this thing is only $6. I mean, do you really even have to think about it? Back when my skin was more oily, I still loved this stuff. I see this being a perfect powder foundation for all skin types.
