Product Review: Trader Joe’s Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Serum

on

If your love for Trader Joe’s goes just as deep as mine does, you’re always going there and spending a crap ton of money on a bunch of fun snacks, new frozen items, and in the beauty aisle. What can I say, I’m a sucker for some affordable beauty products and if it’s from the mecca that is Trader Joe’s, I’m all in. Each time I go, I do a quick drive-by in the beauty aisle just to see if anything new has come out. This has resulted in me doing quite a few Trader Joe’s reviews, including my review for the Coconut Oil Hair Mask. It’s proven to be one of my favorite hair masks and TJ’s treated me well by coming out with a counterpart to the mask in the form of the Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Serum. It’s the finishing touch to the hair mask and I just want to say, thank you TJ’s. You’ve done good. Let’s dive into the new Trader Joe’s Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Serum to see if it’s something you should pick up too!

For starters, it’s only $3.99. TJ’s, are you freaking joking me?! Not only do you give me fun, healthy snacks, but you give me all the products I need for shiny, beautiful hair for cheap. You’re the real MVP here. Moving on…This hair serum is super affordable, which is great for those of us on budget. Within the product, you get almost 3 oz. – perfect for traveling with and it will last you forever! All you need is a pump or two for all of your strands.

Something I should note here is when you do pump it into your hands and you’re about to apply it to your damp or dry hair, you’ll notice something magical – the scent. It’s basically a vacation in a bottle. It smells so wonderful and the scent actually stays for a while. I can normally smell a hint of it for a few hours after applying it. Once you get over how great it smells and how excited you are that your hair will smell so good all day, focus applying the product on your ends and up the strands. I apply just one pump throughout my entire head, avoiding my roots since those can get oily. One of the best parts about this product is that it dries pretty quickly. Some serums can leave your hair feeling greasy for awhile and make your hands feel like oil slicks. This Trader Joes Hair serum applies to the hair easily and doesn’t leave a gross residue.

Now, this product claims to help tame frizz and add shine to your hair, and boy does it! Every time I use this hair serum, I am amazed by hoe healthy and shiny my hair looks without looking dirty at all. I don’t tend to suffer from much frizz, but I have used the smallest amount before when I wore my hair in a top knot to keep flyaways at bay. It worked great. With this hair serum, you’ll be getting compliments on how great your hair looks…and who doesn’t love that?

All I have to say is Trader Joe’s got me AGAIN. They keep on releasing great beauty products and neither me or my wallet is made about it. If you’re headed to TJ’s in the near future, make sure to pick up the Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Serum. It’ll become a staple in your hair routine – guaranteed.
